On September 9th, Apple will be hosting their traditional event. Here, the new iPhone has a near guaranteed launch. Anxious to know the details? Here’s a rundown of expectations for the new model:

In terms of name and color, Apple will be keeping with traditional Apple nomenclature. The name has been limited to either iPhone 6s or iPhone 7. Black, silver, and gold will remain color choices, but occasional rumors suggest that Apple will add a “rose gold” option to liven up the lineup.

The last 3 iPhone launches have been in September, so it is safe to say that this one will follow suit. Many sources are pointing to a mid-September release, so keep your eyes peeled, as new iPhones sell out in record times every year. However, this should not be a problem this time around as Apple is reported to be making 85-90 million iPhones for the first couple weeks after it is released to the public.

Many of the new internals for the iPhone seem fairly predictable: an A9 processor (35% more power, 15% smaller, 20% faster) and 2GB of ram (up from the current 1 gig) are expected to be added to the model. An expected new technology called Force Touch senses how hard the user is pressing on the screen reacts accordingly. Force Touch was introduced on the new Macbooks and Apple Watch earlier this year. The cameras are also getting upgraded: there are forecasts for 12 megapixel cameras with 4K video recording. For selfie lovers out there, expect to see a 5 MP front facing camera and HD videos. iOS 9 will provide a better battery life and increased competence for Siri to the new iPhone.

As for pricing, it is expected to be no different than previous iPhones, with $199 for 16 gigabytes, $299 for 64GB, and $399 for 128 gigs. A “Plus” option (with a bigger screen) will add $100 to each storage configuration. iPhone 5C users looking for an upgrade will be pleased to see an update coming their way. The 6S will have the same design as the 5C, but with all the features of the iPhone 6, such as a thinner design, better cameras and faster processors.

Any rumors you think we left out? Are you going to buy the new iPhone?
